Grooming: Men’s Specialty Face Creams

men's face cream

Long gone are the soap and water alone days.  More men are realizing that whilst they may not want to pamper their skin they should protect it with men’s specialty face creams (both for shaving and post shave).  I have been testing these products on myself over the past several weeks and they will help.

Our pick of Men’s Specialty Face Creams

Neal's Yard Remedies Frankincense Cream is one of several exciting men's specialty face creams.

First up is the Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Cream, available as Creme Intense or Concentrate.  There’s a delightful eye cream too. They call it their ‘Age-Defying Pearl of the Desert.’  And they’re not wrong.  Hailing from Somalian Frankincense trees, the resultant whipped cream is smooth and light and immediately after application, you almost certainly will feel a suppleness and softness and some even see a ‘glow.’  The cream is part of a range including fragrances which Jade Jagger has described as ‘amazing.’   She is not wrong, either!

A go-to product with an enviable heritage in male grooming is Aramis.  Their Lab Series Age Rescue Water-Charged Gel Cream (a bit of a mouthful but still…) contains Ginseng, green tea, algae and grape.  The result?  A turquoise-hued cream, velvety and clean-smelling – fresh and cool on application product which when dry, seems welcomingly powdery – not cloying.

For some, shaving is a real chore, not to say a bore.  Friends of mine swear that they would rather never have to shave again.  However, that would take all the pleasure of discovery away, i.e., such as trying new product to find the perfect fit. In the world of specialty men’s face creams, try the proudly titled Real Shaving Company’s Sensitive Shave Gel, squeezing, from the canister, in bolts of striated pearl drops consisting of aloe leaf and cacao shea butter.
